Sultan of Sokoto Muhammad Saad Abubakar has declared Thursday the third of February 2022 as the first day of Rajab 1443, after Hijira.
This was made known in a statement signed by the chairman Advisory Committee on religious affairs Sultanate council Sokoto state, professor Sambo Wali Junaidu.
He explained that it followed a report by the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs in conjunction with the National Moon Sighting Committee saying it didn’t receive any report about the Sighting of the cresent of Rajab from the Moon Sighting Committee across the country.
