President Muhammadu Buhari has condoled with the Government of the Republic of Niger over the conflagration that claimed the lives of 22 school children.

The children, aged 5 and six, got burnt during a classroom fire outbreak in Maradi region of the country.

A statement by the Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, says President Buhari is greatly shocked and deeply touched by the tragedy.

It says the death of the children in these circumstances is particularly moving, adding that the President’s heart and prayers go out to the grieving parents of these children.
