The criminal trial of the leader of Islamic Movement of Nigeria, Sheik Ibrahim El-Zakzaky and his wife, Zeenat has been adjourned to the 28th of July, 2021.

At the resumed hearing today, the Defense Counsel, Mr. Femi Falana prayed the court to rule on his client’s no case submission.

Mr. Falana argued that the Prosecution failed to prove any case against the defendants.

Attempts to speak to the Prosecution on their reaction was unsuccessful.

A ruling on the no case submission is expected from the court in the next adjourned date.

Elzakzaky and his wife are standing trial on an eight-count charge bordering on alleged culpable homicide, unlawful assembly and disruption of the public peace, among others.
