Jigawa State Pilgrims welfare board
has officially commenced the distribution of uniforms and travelling kits for the state 2026 intending pilgrims.

The Director General of the board, Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo disclosed this to Radio Nigeria Correspondent in Dutse, the state capital.

He explained that, the launching of the distribution exercise is part of preparations for the forthcoming Hajj operations.

He said that the board had already began the distribution of uniforms and bags to Zonal and center officers for onward distribution to prospective pilgrims.

Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo pointed out that, the board has so far successfully secured visa for its intending pilgrims.

He added that the state pilgrims welfare board had completed all arrangements for the smooth airlift of the state pilgrims.

He further explained that, according to national hajj commission of nigeria NAHCON, the first flight for the airlift of nigerian prospective pilgrims is expected to take off on 3rd May, 2026.

The DG said, NAHCON also scheduled to begin airlift the first batch of Jigawa pilgrims from Nuhu Muhammadu Sunusi International airport in Dutse to the holy land on 4th or 5th May, 2026.

Ahmed Labbo pointed out that, the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria NAHCON had assigned Umza Air to airlift the Jigawa pilgrims to Saudi Arabia

According to him, immunization for the intending pilgrims will also be administered at the board headquarters and other designated centers in the state soon.

The Pilgrims Boss therefore, urged intending pilgrims to be attending daily orientation exercise and be good ambassadors of the state and the country in general while at the holy land.

He noted that, the officials of the board, security agencies as well as other stakeholders will soon tour orientation centers across the state to educate and enlighten the pilgrims on measures to be taken on security, safety and hygiene while at the camp and holy Land.

He commended Governor Umar Namadi and all stakeholders for the support and cooperation given to the board for a hitch free exercise.
