Muslims have been urged to take advantage of the remaining ten days of Ramadan by intensifying prayers and other acts of worship in order to attain greater spiritual rewards.

A renowned Islamic scholar and philanthropist in Zaria, Magaji Umar Dan Aljanna, made the call while speaking on the importance of the last ten days of Ramadan.

Malam Magaji Umar Dan Aljanna explained that the last ten days of Ramadan are very significant, hence the need for Muslims to make proper use of the period.

He pointed out that there are numerous lessons embedded in Ramadan which Muslims should strive to sustain during and beyond the month.

The Islamic cleric also urged people not to relent in offering prayers for the country and its leaders for peace, security and national unity.

According to him, peace, unity and security remain key ingredients for national development and economic prosperity.

Malam Magaji Umar Dan Aljanna further advised youths to avoid drug abuse and other social vices capable of destroying their future.

He said seeking Islamic and western education, as well as acquiring vocational skills, would help them improve their lives and attain sustainable development.

The Islamic scholar and philanthropist also called on parents to intensify efforts in the proper upbringing of their children in order to fulfill their responsibilities to society.
