The Kaduna State Government and Birnin Gwari Local Government Area have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening collaboration in order to safeguard lives and property in the area.
The Chairman of Birnin Gwari Local Government Council, Salisu Isah, made this known shortly after defending the council’s 2026 budget proposal before the Kaduna State House of Assembly.

Alhaji Salisu Isah described Birnin Gwari as a volatile area facing security challenges, stressing the need for sustained government intervention. He explained that the council proposed a budget of over ₦7 billion to enhance security and provide critical infrastructural development in the predominantly agrarian local government area.

In a related development, Makarfi Local Government Area has pledged to prioritise security, education, healthcare delivery and human capital development in the 2026 fiscal year.
The Executive Chairman of the council, Garba Mohammed Sabon Gari, disclosed this while defending the local government’s budget proposal before the Assembly’s Committee on Appropriation and Implementation.
According to him, the council proposed to spend over ₦5 billion to improve social amenities and promote socio-economic development across the area.
