A Non-Governmental Organization, Islamic Society of Eggon-land ISE has sponsored six juma’at imams to perform this years hajj exercise in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
This is the fourth time the islamic society of eggon-land is shouldering the responsibility to sponsored the juma’at imams numbering twenty six within five years for initiating the gesture across nasarawa eggon local government area of nasarawa state.
Speaking at the eleventh annual pre-ramadan lecture, organized by the islamic society of eggon-land-ISE the general secretary, Alhaji Umar Abdullahi Galle said, the idea behide sending the imams to the holy land is to pray fervently for sustainable peace, unity, security and stability of nasarawa state and the country at large.
Alhaji Umar Abdullahi Galle explained that, saudi arebia is the headquarters of every muslims hence the need to sponsored the imams considering their contributions towards propagating the teachings of islam most especially at the rural areas.
On the annual pre-ramadan lecture, with the theme “Ramadan and Beyond: Strengthening Faith Relationships, and Responsible Living in the Digital Age” the general secretary of the ISE, said, the idea is to remind muslims on their obligations during the month of ramadan.
“Our major focus is the imams of rural areas of eggon extractions across the state to educate their followers on the teachings of islam and reason for choose them were because they are the one propagating the religion in their respective places of leadership ….he said”
“Imams are islamic leaders and if imams are preaching the proper teachings of prophet Muhammad S A W peace be upon him, considering that ramadan happens once in a year and if to observe pasting without not been inform about some certain responsibility it means your fasting is not accepted…..he added”
In his lecture, one of the resources person at the event with the topic “Fasting as a Spiritual Discipline” the chief imam of nasarawa eggon local government, Sheikh Jibrin Yusuf Danladi said the important and spiritual aspect of fasting is to bring the muslims more closer to their creator being it has ordained to those who came before prophet Muhammad S A W to rose their spiritual aspect .
“Fasting is a directive from God to all those that practice islam either rich or poor they will not eat, drink neither go closer to their wives and will do that spiritually to respect the creator and called on all muslims to use this as an avenue to serve as the month of fearing God ….he said.
In a remark, The council chairman of nasarawa eggon local government area, Barrister Illiya Aliyu said, government would continue to support religious organisations and non-governmental organization geared toward promoting sustainable peace, unity security and stability in the council.
He express satisfaction with the turn-out of participants and advised them to step down the clear message received to their followers to achieve the set objectives.
The eleventh annual pre-ramadan lecture features other resources person with different topics to includes; importance of maintaining strong family and community relationships, The Dangers of the tongue and the social media in islam as well as Living according to the islamic teachings beyond ramadan.
