The Deputy Governor of Kwara State, Kayode Alabi, has charged the intending Christian pilgrims to be good ambassadors of the State while in the Holy Land of Jordan and Israel.
The Deputy Governor who was represented by the Senior Special Adviser on Religion, Christian Matters, Reverend Timothy Akangbe gave the charge during a seminar organized by the Management and Staff of the Kwara State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board on the topic; Pilgrimage as a tool for spiritual development held at the ECWA Church Chapel, Challenge Road, Ilorin.
He urged the intending pilgrims to safeguard the integrity of Nigeria and conduct themselves well in the Holy land.
The deputy governor advised them to equip themselves with necessary materials needed to face the harsh cold weather condition during the journey.
In his address, the Chairman of the Kwara state Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Evangelist Professor Timothy Opoola enjoined the intending pilgrims to choose the kind of clothes to take along because Jordan is currently in the winter season.
He encouraged the pilgrims to abide by all the rules and regulations of Nigeria and the Holy Land.
Professor Opoola urged them to observe the delicacy they eat noting that the kinds of food available there are different from what pilgrims are used to in Nigeria.
He explained that 67 intending pilgrims will be airlifted from Kwara State for the 2026 Christian pilgrimage this month.
