Kwara State University Teaching Hospital management has reiterated its commitment to strengthening standard cleaning and infection control procedures to sustain a hygienic environment.
The Chief Medical Director, Dr. Bola Ahmed, made the disclosure during a workshop organized by the Infection Prevention and Control Team (IPCT) department in collaboration with the Environmental Department ,
held at the KWASUTH Seminar Room in Ilorin.
Represented by the Deputy Chief Medical Director, Dr. Ismail Obalowu, the CMD said the training was organized for hospital cleaners to strengthen standard cleaning and infection control procedures so as to promote a healthy environment.
Dr. Ahmed charged the hospital cleaners to strictly adhere to established cleaning protocols in order to prevent avoidable health risks and sustain a healthy environment.
He assured participants of the management’s continued support for initiatives that promote a safe and hygienic hospital environment.
In her lecture, Nurse Elizabeth Alo of the Infection Prevention and Control Team (IPCT) department educated the participants on proper solution-mixing procedures and emphasized the importance of personal hygiene in preventing the spread of germs.
She encouraged the cleaners to seek clarification whenever they were in doubt.
The training was well attended by top management staff, cleaners and other stakeholders in the hospital.
