Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) and the Voice of Nigeria (VON) have pledged to deploy their operational expertise of information dissemination and management as Non Kinetic approach to support the country’s Armed Forces to tackle the current security challenges.
This was the highpoint of discussions when the FRCN Director General Dr Mohammed Bulama and the Director General of the Voice of Nigeria Mallam Jibrin Baba Ndace paid a visit at the headquarters of Joint Task Force “Operations Hadin Kai” in the North East in Maiduguri, Borno state.
The two Chief Executives of the government owned media organisations identified, with the efforts of the Security agencies at protecting the lives and property of law abiding citizens and commended them for their sacrifices.
Director General, Dr Mohammed Bulama said both the FRCN and VON have continued to support the security agencies by showcasing and amplifying in their News and Programmes the success recorded by the Armed Forces in the numerous operations nationwide to defeat terrorists, bandits and kidnappers.
Dr Bulama explained that broadcast of some special Programmes would soon commence to educate the people about the dangers of violent extremist and radicalization.
Similarly a massive campaign on all FRCN and VON platforms to educate the people on the need to support the country’s security agencies in the on-going fight to defeat terrorists, bandits and kidnappers will begin soon
They were received by the Theater Commander Operation Hadin Kai Major General Abdulsalam E Abubakar and the Deputy Theater Commander, Air Vice Marshal Esen Efanga.
The Army has previously hinted at collaboration with FRCN to provide a non -kinetic approach in addressing the different dimensions of insecurity.
