Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kaduna State Council, has conferred its 2025 Award of Outstanding Public Service on Professor Bello Yusuf Jamo, Executive Secretary of the Kaduna State Primary Health Care Development Agency.
The award was presented in recognition of Prof. Jamo’s exemplary leadership, dedication, and sustained commitment to strengthening primary healthcare delivery across Kaduna State, particularly in the areas of maternal and child health, disease prevention, and community-based healthcare services.
Presenting the award, the leadership of the NUJ Kaduna State Council commended Prof. Jamo for his professionalism, transparency, and people-oriented approach, which have contributed significantly to improved access to quality primary healthcare services in the state.
In his response, Prof. Bello Yusuf Jamo expressed profound gratitude to the NUJ Kaduna State Council for finding him worthy of the honour.
He described the award as a motivation to do more and a call to greater responsibility.
Prof. Jamo assured the general public of the agency’s continued deliberate efforts to provide efficient, accessible, and quality primary healthcare services to all residents of Kaduna State.
He emphasized that the agency would not relent in strengthening healthcare systems, expanding coverage, and improving service delivery at the grassroots level.
He further appreciated the NUJ Kaduna State Council for its role in promoting accountability and good governance through responsible journalism, noting that the media remains a critical partner in public service delivery and health awareness campaigns.
The award presentation formed part of activities marking the NUJ Kaduna State Council’s programmes for 2025.
