In a statement, NAMLAS praised Justice Muhammad’s commitment to justice, integrity, and humility, saying he “exemplified the highest ideals of the Bench—fairness, courage, and fidelity to the rule of law”.

The association noted that Justice Muhammad played a significant mentorship role, particularly among young Muslim law students, and was a “fatherly pillar and a source of encouragement” to many.

Justice Muhammad served as CJN and left a lasting legacy in Nigeria’s judiciary, shaping key moments in the nation’s legal history.
