Coalition of Closed Health Tertiary Institutions in Katsina State has raised concerns over the reported unauthorized operation of health-related academic programs at Ajiyan Kogon Katsina College of Health Sciences and Technology, Sabuwa, located in Sabuwa Local Government Area.

The operation was first revealed by a verified online news outlet.

In a statement signed by Alhaji Sani Ahamed, the Coalition’s Chairman, the group noted that the institution operates in the home local government of Alhaji Umar Mammada Adamu, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Tertiary Health Institutions, who also sits on the state committee responsible for regulating and sanitizing health-related schools.

The Coalition described the situation as inappropriate and called on the Special Adviser to clarify his awareness of, and relationship with, the institution.

The group further urged him to apologize to His Excellency Dr. Dikko Umar Radda for allegedly neglecting his official duties.

The association lamented that while most closed health schools met the standards listed by the Special Adviser in his interview with Verified News, they have remained closed for 14 months, whereas Ajiyan Kogon, which reportedly does not meet the requirements, continues to operate without restriction.

The Coalition reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the Katsina State Government in ensuring that all health-related tertiary institutions operate in full compliance with regulatory standards, under fair, equitable, and just conditions.
