Coalition of Federal Pensioners has again expressed concern over the delayed payment of retirees’ benefits across the country.

In a statement issued in Lagos, the National Coordinator of the coalition, Comrade Mukaila Ogunboje, noted that the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) had yet to complete the payment of the seven-month pension increment of thirty-two thousand naira, despite a Presidential directive.

Comrade Ogunboje, who is also Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP), NIPOST Lagos State, said an emergency meeting of the coalition had been scheduled for tomorrow to finalise preparations for the proposed naked protest by the senior citizens.

According to the coordinator, the protests would be at the PTAD Headquarters in Abuja to demonstrate anger of the retirees over such maltreatment, described as unfortunate.
