Nasarawa State Chapter of the Resident Doctors at the Teaching Hospital of Federal University of Lafia has comply with the directive of the National Body to embark on indefinite strike.

 

Our correspondent who visited the teaching hospital, reports that doctors vacated the facility aimed at pres home their demand from the federal government to settle all their entitlement cumulative to billions of naira.

 

While in the facility it is only nurses and midwifery were seeing attending to patients who are in critical situation mostly in the accident and emergency unit to render assistance in controlling the condition while those that their cases is beyond their control they transfer to another facilities for urgent attention.

 

While at the Federal Medical Centre FMC Keffi the situation is similar observing that, the two facilities remain scanty as a result of absence of doctors who will attend to patients to treat their health challenges.

 

Relatives along side with their patients at both teaching hospital of federal university of Lafia and the Federal Medical Centre FMC Keffi were seeing evacuating their belongings to attend to private facilities within the two cities, as well as others return home to wait for further directive.

 

In an interview with some of the patients Gloria Namo and Jamil Ishaq who were admitted to treat their health challenges, express concerned over the inability of the federal government to clear all the demand of the residents doctors to enable them continue attending to their ailments.

 

Both appealed to federal government to as a matter of urgency clear all the claims of the doctors considering that, they can afford to patronizing private hospitals due to expensive of bills for the treatment and drugs.
