Governor Mohammed Umar Bago of Niger state has expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress APC will win all the twenty five Local Government Councils Chairmanship seats and two hundred and seventy four Councillorship election slated for November first, twenty twenty five.
The Governor stated this while flagging off the Local Government Councils election campaign and the presentation of flags to twenty four out of twenty five APC Chairmanship candidates in Minna also appealed to Niger lites to come out en masse to elect APC candidates.
Mohammed Umar Bago maintained that he is not ready to surrender any seat to opposition political parties, but to sweep all the seats contested for, in favour of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC.
He however said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the recruitment of one thousand youths each in all the wards in Nigeria, with a view to supporting them for self reliance, while the rehabilitation of the Mokwa to Agaie — Lambata road in Niger state has commenced.
On insecurity bedeviling some parts of Niger state and Nigeria, the Governor, said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remain resolute in addressing such problem to its logical conclusion towards enhancing rapid development of the country.
In his remark, Minister of State Agriculture and Food Security, Dr Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, stressed the need for people of Niger state to come out in their large numbers to elect APC candidates, to enable Governor Umar Bago to consolidate on the gains recorded so far, which he said was unprecedented and highly commendable.
Director General Local Government Councils election Campaign Council, and Speaker Niger State House of Assembly, Barrister Abdulmalik Sarkin daji added that this is a litmus test for them at the APC where it will text it’s capacity and popularity as a party during the next Saturday’s election, and applauded people of Niger state and party faithfuls for their support.
The position of Paiko Local Government Council is in court awaiting court ruling on the matter.
