Jigawa State government has conducted a bid opening for the construction of walls fencing, gates and gate houses at some senior secondary schools in the state.
Declaring the bid open, the Executive Chairman of the State Senior Secondary Education Board, Dr. Abubakar Sabo Yushau, said the construction is aimed at protecting the schools from encroachment and providing a conducive atmosphere for teaching and learning for both teachers and students.
Dr Abubakar Sabo Yushau explained that, the projects are part of the 12 point agenda of Governor Umar Namadi towards reforming education sector and improving teaching and learning activities in schools across the state.
According to him, fifteen senior secondary schools will benefit from the projects which include wall fence, gate and gate house would be constructed in each of the 15 schools.
He, therefore, thanked the state Governor Umar Namadi for his passion and concern towards the improvement of education in the state.
Dr Yushau appealed to the successful bidders to fear Allah and ensure a quality work in a stipulated period.
In their remarks, the representatives of Due process civil society organisations, highlighted on the guidelines and procedures of procurement process and urged the contractors to comply with the rules of the bidding process.
While delivering a vote of thanks, on behalf the board; the Director Administration and finance of the board Malam Hussaini Ahmad Ubale thanked the agencies and commended the participating companies for indicating interesting in the bidding process.
