The Jigawa State Government has presented compensation cheques worth over ₦277 million to 14 families affected by the ongoing reconstruction of the Gumel Central Mosque.

At the ceremony held at the Palace of the Emir of Gumel, the Secretary to the Government of Jigawa State, Malam Bala Ibrahim, represented by Alhaji Abdullahi Sa’idu, urged the beneficiaries to utilize the funds judiciously in building new homes.

He encouraged them to accept their relocation in good faith.

Malam Bala further stated that the compensation process was guided by justice and fairness, ensuring that each affected family received due consideration.

Also speaking, the Chairman of Gumel Local Government Council, Honourable Muhammad Gako, lauded Governor Malam Umar A. Namadi for the gesture, assuring full local government support for the mosque reconstruction.
