Professor Nentawe Yilwatda Has Emerged As The New National Chairman Of The All Progressives Congress (APC).
This follows his unanimous adoption during the party’s 14th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held at the presidential Villa Abuja.
Nentawe Yilwatda nomination was moved by the Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, Hope Uzodimma, and seconded by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, in a show of party-wide consensus.
Before Yilwatda’s emergence, the Acting National Chairman of the APC, called for unity and strategic leadership following the resignation of the former chairman.
He praised members for their resilience in sustaining party activities, announced plans for e-registration and congresses, and thanked the Progressive Governors Forum for their unwavering support in strengthening the party.
In his acceptance speech, Professor Yilwatda expressed gratitude to President Tinubu, the NEC, and all party stakeholders for the trust and confidence reposed in him. He pledged to uphold the progressive ideals of the APC, work towards inclusivity, and strengthen grassroots structures
President Bola Tinubu who presided over the meeting congratulated the new chairman and commended the APC governors, National Assembly leadership, and other party stakeholders for their collective efforts in sustaining the party’s progressive ideology. He also paid tribute to the party’s founding fathers who had recently passed away, urging members to uphold their legacy of unity and dedication to national development.
The NEC meeting, attended by top government officials, APC leaders, and members of the National Assembly, concluded with a renewed commitment to strengthen party structures, foster internal harmony, and prepare for future elections under the leadership of Professor Nentawe Yilwatda.
