The House of Representatives Committee on the Review of constitution of the federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 has commenced sitting in kaduna this Saturday.
The Committee representing four states kaduna,Jigawa, Katsina and Kano has collected many memoranda from Representatives of the states comprising of Governors or their representatives under the chairmanship of the minority leader, Alhaji Madaki Aliyu Sani.
Speaking to newsmen shortly after the first sitting, the chairman of the committee from North West center A, Alhaji Aliyu Sani said they were in kaduna to receive reports and people’s comment on their demands for onward presentation to the Assembly for debate and necessary action as demanded by the constitution.
Also speaking to newsmen on the issue, the Deputy Committee chairman,Mr.Amos Gwamna Magaji from Jaba/Zangon Kataf federal Constituency said the people have done the right thing by making their presentation very orderly.
He said the House will latter debate on the submissions made for necessary consideration, adding that the citizens have to support the bill before they are finally ascented by the Federal government.
Gwamna Magaji thanked people from the Southern parts of the state for presenting their demands for the creation of Gurara state, saying that they were in order pending other procedures.
