A former Senate Leader, Senator Muhammad Tukur Liman, says the launch of the Arewa Cohesion Movement is expected to restore the glory of the northern geopolitical zone.

Senator Liman stated this in an interview in Kaduna, noting that such a movement was necessary in light of the socio-economic and political challenges currently facing the region, which he described as unfortunate.

He expressed concern over alleged silence of some notable political leaders from the zone for selfish reason which should no longer be tolerated by well-meaning citizens mentored by policies of past leaders particularly the late Premier Sir Ahmadu Bello Sardauna of Sokoto.

The former leader of the Senate expressed the hope that everything possible would be done to address the problem including unemployment poverty and insecurity in the interest of democratic governance.

Senator Muhammad Tukur Liman was optimist that with patriotism, fear of God and committed leadership the movement would soon justify its launching on Thursday in Kaduna attended by stakeholders across the zone devoid of sentiments.
