Stakeholders of Rotary Club in Kaduna have stressed the need for people to continue assisting the less privileged  due to the current economic hardship.

The stakeholders bared their minds during a meeting and installation of New President of Rotary Club of Kaduna Metropolitan, Rotarian Luqman Babatunde in Kaduna.

Speaking at the event, the outgoing President, Rotarian Siaka Anthony maintained that Rotary Club which is known for it’s humanitarian services have affected lives of the less privileged under his watch for the passed one year and called on wealthy individuals particularly those in Kaduna to support the clubs Charity projects.

“I want to appreciate all members that saw me through this challenging year, it was very challenging financially for all members in the sense that because of the devaluation of our currency, the fees we are paying almost doubled and that had a great impact on fellowship in the sense that members rate of turn up went down”.

He urged members of the club to give the newly installed President all the maximum support needed for the smooth running of the office, saying he needs people to achieve the desired goal.

Also speaking, Engr. Jinad Abdulakeem who chaired the event maintained that Rotary Club of Kaduna Metropolitan has done remarkably well in terms of the projects executed right from the past Excos and called on the new president to sustain the tempo.

On their part, Assistant Zonal Coordinator zone three, Rotarian Aisha Ismail, President of Rotary Club of Kaduna Queens, Hajiya Rabi Musa Saulawa and Assistant governor supervising the club Rotarian Tina Ishaku all commended the outgoing Excos saying they were able to execute projects in line with rotary areas of focus despite financial constraints.

They prayed that God should help the club to get members that would support the club as it carries out it charitable works.

Also speaking, a presenter at the event, Mr. Kassim Ademola who spoke on businesses and challenges in Nigeria, maintained that everyone should be fully involved in businesses to be able to scale through the current economic challenges in the country.

While narrating his experiences as a Tecno Phones regional manager, he stressed that people should be able to take risk and be committed in their businesses and seek support where necessary particularly in the areas of financial empowerment and support.

In a remark the newly inaugurated President, Rotarian Luqman Babatunde who recounted how he became a Rotarian years back, noted that the love, passion and commitment seen in the members has been an encouragement to him.

He added that this month, the Club sets to distribute maternal birth kits to a primary health care centre in Mando among other projects.
