President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended warm Easter greetings to Christians in Nigeria and across the world, urging citizens to draw strength from the season’s message of hope, sacrifice, and renewal.
In his Easter message President Tinubu reflected on the significance of the Holy Week marked by the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ as a period that calls for deep reflection on love, redemption, and enduring faith.
“As President of our blessed nation,” he said, “I draw inspiration from this timeless message of hope and renewal. I remain steadfast in my commitment to delivering the promise of a Renewed Hope—a better, more just, and prosperous Nigeria for all.”
President Tinubu acknowledged the recent security challenges that led to tragic losses in some parts of the country, expressing his heartfelt condolences to affected families. He reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering resolve to tackle insecurity head-on.
“I have given clear directives to the Armed Forces and all relevant security agencies to end insecurity decisively and without delay,” he said. “With the unwavering courage and commitment of our gallant men and women in uniform, we are turning the tide and making steady progress in reclaiming peace and stability.”
The President also addressed the economic challenges facing Nigerians, expressing gratitude for their patience and resilience amid ongoing reforms. He noted that the economy is beginning to show positive signs of recovery.
“We are working tirelessly to restore investor confidence, stabilise key sectors, and build an inclusive economy that serves the interests of all Nigerians,” Tinubu assured.
President Tinubu joined the global Christian community in offering prayers of gratitude for the recovery of Pope Francis, wishing the Pontiff continued strength in his leadership.
He concluded the message with a call for unity, hope, and national resolve. “Just as Christ triumphed over death, so too shall our country triumph over every challenge we face. The present moment may be cloudy, but it will usher in a glorious day.”
“May the risen Christ bless our homes with peace and our nation with continued unity and prosperity,” the President added.
