The Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Yusuf Dahiru Liman, has joined Christian communities in the Makera Constituency to celebrate Easter, calling on the faithful to embrace the season’s message of faith, hope, and sacrifice.
In his Easter message, Speaker Liman emphasized the need for renewed trust in God and urged Christians to uphold values of tolerance, love, and selflessness, especially in a diverse society like Nigeria.
He appealed to citizens of Kaduna State to foster peaceful coexistence across religious, ethnic, and political lines, stressing that unity remains the foundation for lasting progress and national development.
Kaduna State’s Commissioner for Home Security and Internal Affairs, Mr. James Kanyip, also addressed the gathering, highlighting the state government’s non-kinetic strategies in addressing insecurity.
He encouraged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to security agencies.
Community leaders, including Mr. Monday Kazah of Kakuri-Gwari and Mr. Ishaya Amfani of Television Ward, praised Speaker Liman for his impactful projects in the constituency.
They commended his support for education, job creation, and skills development.
As part of his healthcare initiatives, the Speaker sponsored 200 vulnerable and elderly residents to enroll in the Kaduna State Contributory Health Management Authority (KACHMA), providing them access to affordable medical care.
In further support of education, Speaker Liman awarded scholarships to 200 students from Kakuri-Gwari and Television communities to aid their academic growth and empower the next generation.
The event was attended by religious leaders, traditional rulers, youth and women leaders, and various community stakeholders who expressed appreciation for the Speaker’s continued commitment to the people of Makera.
