The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has passed a vote of confidence on President Bola Tinibu.
Attended by President Tinubu at the party’s National Headquarters in Abuja, the NEC meeting saw party leaders also reinforcing support for his administration’s policies on governance, economy, and party unity.
The NEC also zoned the national chairmanship of the party to the North West, setting the stage for new leadership dynamics within the APC.
In his address, Tinubu expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and reassured members of his commitment to delivering on the party’s progressive agenda.
“I appreciate the confidence you have placed in my leadership. We will continue to ensure that our party remains a vehicle for national development and stability,” Tinubu said, highlighting economic gains under his administration, including improvements in food security and declining inflation.
The meeting also reviewed APC’s electoral strategies, with the APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje outlining the party’s successes and areas for improvement.
He noted that the decentralised campaign model had yielded victories in Imo, Kogi, and Edo, while lessons were learned from the Bayelsa experience.
The meeting also had in attendance Vice President Kashim Shettima, President of Senate Godswill Akpabio, Deputy president of the Senate Barau Jibrin and the Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abass.
Others include the governors of the party, led by by Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum PGF, and governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma.
