The National Examinations Council NECO has released the results of twenty twenty four Senior School Certificate Examinations SSCE external with over fifty seven thousand one hundred and fourteen candidates who sat for the examination that have scored five credits and above including English Language and Mathematics.
The figure represents sixty seven point three five percent, coupled with a sharp reduction in cases of examination malpractices.
Announcing the results in Minna, Niger state, NECO Registrar and Chief Executive Professor Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, said fourteen centres were blacklisted for their involvement in whole centre malpractice in nine subjects.
Prof Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi however explained that of the eighty three thousand and twenty four students that sat for English Language, sixty two thousand nine hundred and twenty nine representing seventy five point six two percent got credit and above.
Similarly he said out of the eighty three thousand and twenty four candidates who sat for Mathematics, seventy seven thousand nine hundred and eighty eight representing ninety three point nine three perecent also got credit and above.
While a total of seventy thousand seven hundred and eleven candidates representing eighty three point three nine percent got five credits and above irrespective of Enaglish language and Mathematics.
The NECO Registrar and Chief Executive said candidates can access their SSCE results on the NECO official website www.neco.gov.ng while statingy that henceforth the Federal Ministry of Education has directed that any centre or supervisor that had been blacklisted by one examination body will be blacklisted by the other examination bodies to ensure conformity and uniformity in the fight against criminality.
