A seasoned politician and the Executive Director of Finance and Administration at the Sokoto Rima River Basin Development Authority, Malam Abubakar Ibrahim Marketer, has called on the people of Katsina State and Nigerians at large to support the APC-led administration to ensure peace and development across the country.
Malam Abubakar Ibrahim made this appeal in Dutsin-Ma, Katsina State, shortly after casting his vote at Reading Room 001 polling unit during the just concluded local government elections.
He called on the people of the area, the state, and the country at large to support the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Dikko Umar Radda to enable them to fulfill their campaign promises and advance both the state and the nation.
Malam Abubakar also described the election as free, fair, credible, and widely acceptable.
He commended the massive turnout of voters and urged the newly elected councilors and local government chairmen to discharge their constitutional duties with the fear of Almighty God.
Earlier, the State Assembly member representing Dutsin-Ma Local Government, Malam Muhammad Abubakar Khamis, called on the electorate to intensify prayers for peace to prevail in Katsina State, the northern region, and the country as a whole.
He commended the State Independent Electoral Commission for organizing and conducting a successful and hitch-free local government election across the state.
In an interview, Malam Rabiu Musa Tafada, Chairman of Tafada Global Ventures, stated that the exercise was well-organized and the best in the history of local government elections in Katsina State.
According to him, this will give the elected people a chance to deliver developments of democracy to the people at the grassroots level.
