Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA) has called on the federal and state governments to develop effective strategies for youth development through skills acquisition, emphasizing its importance for socio-economic growth and national security.
The Chairperson of the 8 Division, Nigerian Army Chapter of NAOWA, and wife of the GOC 8 Division, Mrs. Meg Indidi Ajose, made this appeal during the commissioning of the remodeled NAOWA Vocational Training Centre at the 8 Division in Sokoto State.
She noted that the remodeling of the vocational center demonstrated NAOWA’s commitment to complementing the Federal Government’s efforts to empower youths through skills acquisition.

The Chairperson noted that youth skills acquisition is crucial to societal stability and economic growth of the country.
She argued that empowering the youths with relevant skills ensures self reliance, promotes businesses and drives technological advancement in the Country.
Mrs. Meg Indidi stressed that investing in youth helps in building human capital development for socio-economic and security development in the country.

Radio Nigeria reports that a total of one hundred and sixteen women and girls are currently undergoing training in various skills ranging from Tailoring, catering to hairdressing among other trade.
Also speaking the zonal coordinator Mrs Anne Omoh Tawasimi changed the trainees to avail themselves for the opportunity and dedicate themselves on the training with a view to achieving the desired objectives.
