Governor Mohammed Umar Bago of Niger state has approved the payment of National Examination Fees for all Students in Government-owned Schools of Health Technology across the State who are sitting for National Examinations this year.
This is contained in a statement issued to Newsmen in Minna by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Abubakar Usman.
The statement explained that this commendable initiative demonstrates the Governor’s unwavering commitment to advancing healthcare education and supporting aspiring healthcare professionals in the State.
The SSG however revealed that the Governor’s approval covers all qualifying Students preparing to sit for their National Examinations in various Health Technology Programmes.
Alhaji Usman said the gesture aims to alleviate the financial burden on Students and their families while promoting excellence in healthcare education.
He stressed that the support is expected to significantly increase the participation rate in National Examinations and contribute towards producing more qualified healthcare professionals for the state and Nigeria.
The SSG also emphasized the present administration’s commitment to investing in human capital development, particularly in the healthcare sector.
According to him, “Our Government recognizes the critical role of well-trained healthcare professionals in building a robust healthcare system. By removing financial barriers to these examinations, we are investing in the future of our healthcare delivery system”.
The SSG noted that the payment of examination fees is part of Governor Bago’s broader efforts to promote quality education and healthcare in the State, stressing that his administration has implemented various initiatives to upgrade educational infrastructure and expand access to healthcare services.
