The Kano state government-KNSG says it will not relent in its efforts to support the sick and vulnerable members of the society.

The state commissioner of women, children and disabled, Hajiya Aisha Saji stated this during a social welfare extension visit to Murtala Specialist Hospital and Dala Orthopedic Hospital Kano.

According to her, the visit at the  health facilities was to interact with patients and provide the necessary intervention where necessary.

The commissioner stressed that the state government under the leadership of Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf was committed to the welfare of its citizens through policies and programs aimed at bringing succor.

Hajiya Aisha maintained that as the ministry saddled with the responsibilities of ensuring the welfare of women, children and people living with disabilities-PWDs, she would do everything possible to improve their lives through skills acquisition and other empowerment packages.

During the visit, patients received children and adult diapers as well as hygiene kits from the commissioner.

Responding, the chief medical directors of Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital and Dala Orthopedic Hospital Dr. Usman Tijjani and Dr. Nurudeen Isah commended the commissioner for the visit.

Represented by officers in charge of female and children wards, they described the visit as timely and promised to redouble their efforts to achieve the desired objectives.

Some of the patients who spoke to Radio Nigeria thanked the state government and promised to make judicious use of the items.

The commissioner was accompanied by the directors from the ministry and NNPP party supporters.
