Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s administration has approved a significant investment of over N1 billion to transform the healthcare sector in Kano State.
This investment aims to enhance infrastructure, services and access to quality healthcare for all residents.
According to a statement by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the allocation includes:
– N165 million for essential medications, newborn packs, and free maternal and child health services
– N57 million to complete the College of Nursing and Midwifery in Madobi
– N61.8 million to complete the Community Hospital in Kadawa
– N81.6 million to establish a sickle cell unit at Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital
– N64.8 million to renovate the Infectious Diseases Hospital for the Kano State Centre for Disease Control
– N35 million for infrastructure upgrades at the School of Health Technology
– N28.5 million for the College of Nursing and Midwifery in Dambatta
– N17.4 million to renovate the Isolation Centre in Yargaya
– N770 million for the construction of the Post Midwifery Institute in Gezawa.
The statement added that this comprehensive investment demonstrates Governor Yusuf’s commitment to improving healthcare access, quality, and infrastructure in the State.
