The Senator Representing Zamfara West, Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar has vowed to give full scholarship to 1,700 qualified indigenes of the state to study various courses in Nigerian universities

The Chairman of the Scholarship Committee Senator Tijjani Yahaya Kaura disclosed this at a press conference held in Gusau, the state capital.

Senator Tijjani Kaura said Six local government areas from Zamfara West would be given 150 slots each while the remaining local governments from Zamfara Central and Zamfara north will recieved 100 slots each.

He further explaned that, each student will be paid all his tuition fees through out the duration of the course and accommodation, adding that each student will be given monthly allowance to enable him to settle his or her study with out any financial problem.

According to him, the beneficiaries would carefully be selected to ensure that, those who qualified were mostly those who can’t afford to further their studies and are mostly people from poor families.

Senator Tijjani added that, the Main Committee has set up sub Committees for proper screening of the qualified students under the Senator Abdulaziz Yari Scholarships initiative in the state, adding that, the scholarship will be given to the qualified students regardless of their political backgrounds in the state.

He called on qualified students to get in touch with the committee and submit their applications for screening and assessment for them to benefit from the scheme.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the committee publicity, Alhaji Ibrahim Danmaliki assured to dessiminate the information to the public in order to have access to the scheme.

Danmaliki added that, the beneficiaries would be monitored, supervised when addimitted into the universities to ensure that, they cooperate with the committee to achieved the desired objectives.
