Reps Summon Former Minister of Aviation, NCATZ Rector Over Sale of 2 Aircrafts

The House of representatives has summoned the former minister of aviation Hadi Sirika and Rector of the Nigerian Colleage of Aviation and Technology Zaria (NCATZ) over the sale of two Aircrafts

The chairman House committee on public assets Ademorin Kuye announced the invitation at the end of its meeting with the acting Rector of the institute and his team this wednesday while investigating the sale of two Aircrafts meant for training students of the Colleage.

Commenting on the objective of the meeting the chairman Ademorin assured that the committee is determine to recover assets belonging to the nation acquired through fraudulent processes but not to whitchunt any body

The chairman added that the committee is set to ensure that there is transparency and accountability in the management and disposal of public assets going forward

Ademorin also explained that the committee is willing to strech its findings not only on physical assets including both tangible and intangible assets, given the investments by the Federal Government in concessions, privatisations and all of that.

The chairman further said the appearance of firmer minister and Rector has became necessary to answer some questions that are difficult to answer by the current acting Rector Mr Joseph Imalighwe, saying the two invitees are espected to appear before the committee next wednesday.

Shading more lights on the committee’s commitments on the issue a member from zamfara state Hon Isa Muhammad Anka said the committee will ensure transparency and those found wanting be punished according to their offence.

The two helcopters were said to be purchased at the cost of 2.4 million dollers and auctioned out at the cost of about 1.1 thousand dollers to a private company disregarding the interests of Nigerian Airforce , Navy and Nigerian Police who showed interest to purchase the plains.
