Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress – APC has condemned the action of the police and the Government of Zamfara State for illegally seizing the State APC Chairman’s official vehicle.
The Publicity Secretary of the Party Malam Yusuf Idris made the condemnation in a statement to newsmen in Gusau the State capital by the.
It says the sad incident occurred in Gusau, when the police who have been secretly trailing the driver descended on the vehicle with Zamfara number plate GUS 51 AH without warrant.
The APC driver raised the alarm on the police who were later discovered to be the policemen attached to the Government House.
The statement explains that they were asked by the Commissioner of Police to recover the vehicle and take it to the Police Headquarters in Gusau only for them to divert to the Government House after forcing the driver to change the route.
The police then detained the driver for hours at the government house without any explanation up to when they released him.
The APC believe that this is another way and threat jointly orchestrated in collaboration by both the police and the state government against the APC and its members especially the chairman who may have been the victim of today’s unfortunate act.
The party inform security agencies that the Zamfara APC Chairman’s life is in danger since they are trailing his movements and that of his family, adding that, if anything happen to him, they are going to hold Zamfara State Government House Police responsible.
