The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has declared Col. Kefas Agbu of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), the winner of the 2023 governorship election in Taraba State.

Prof. Muhammad Ahmed Abdul’aziz who is the returning officer and Vice Chancellor of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Bauchi announced the result at the INEC collation center in Jalingo.

He said Kefas Agbu of the PDP scored 257,926 to defeat his closest opponate, Professor Sani Yahaya of the NNPP who pulled 202,277 while senator Emmanuel Bwacha of the APC scored 142,502 and Danladi Baido of SDP got 28,374.

Meanwhile, the out going Governor, Darius Ishaku while speaking to newsmen at the Presidential lodge in Jalingo had earlier shortly after the announcement of the result congratulated the Governor-elect and his Deputy, as well as called on the people of the state to accord them maximum support and cooperation more they gave to him during his regime.
