Flood has killed 24 people in Katsina State.

The State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA in a statement said the windstorm also affected over 18,000 people whose houses and farmlands were destroyed.

SEMA”s Public Relations Officer, Umar Muhammed explained that all the 34 Local Government Areas of the state were affected.

He said 1,620 farmlands were submerged in Danja, Ingawa and Kafur local government areas of the state as assets and farm produce worth millions of naira were destroyed.

The SEMA spokesperson stressed that several other persons also sustained various degrees of injury from the incidence.

He added that the Katsina State Government has conducted an assessment of the areas and assured that relief materials would soon be distributed to the affected households.
