Sultan of Sokoto Muhammad Sa’ad has directed the Muslim ummah in the country to start looking for the new crescent of Rabi-ul Awwal today 26 of September, equivalent to the Islamic calendar 29 of Safar 1444 AH.
A statement by the chairman, advisory committee on religious affairs Sultanate council Sokoto state, Professor Sambo Wali Junaidu says if sighted, the information should be forwarded to the nearest village or district head for onward communication to the Sultan.
