Federal government has reassured of its commitment to completing ongoing road infrastructure in all parts of the country.

The Director, Planning Research and Statistics of the ministry, Mr. Jide Ode-Martins stated this during the opening ceremony of the 28th meeting of the National Council on Works taking place in Kano.

He said the essence of the meeting was to ensure that stakeholders come together and deliberate on issues that are related to infrastructure with particular reference to roads.

Mr. Jide Ode-Martins maintained that the present administration has put many things in place to ensure that all road projects were completed within the stipulated time.

” I assure you that before June 2023 quite several roads and bridges would be completed as promised by this administration “

He noted that about five to six road projects have been opened in the Northwest, some at the North Central, and many more in other parts of the country.

“Few of the road projects include Nguru -Gashuwa road, in jigsaw we have Shuwarin – Bauchi road, Shuwarin -Maiduguri Road, in the North central we have the Owetto Bridge, connecting the Benue and Nasarawa state, and the second Niger bridge which is 98% completion”

In a remark, Kano state Commissioner for Works Alhaji Idris Wada represented by the Permanent Secretary Ahmed Salisu described the meeting was timely.

He remarked that the meeting is an annual event, geared toward ensuring that infrastructural development are completed within the stipulated period.
