As Nigeria moves toward another round of elections coming up in few months time, a civil Society organization Legal Awareness For Nigerian Women has brought together women and youths organizations towards promoting inclusive democratic process through citizens actions.

In there separate presentations at the event, youth representatives Jamila Abdulmumini and Daniel Zabrang who spoke on behalf of their organizations condemned the use of financial inducement and drugs use by politicians for youths to serve as political thugs.

Jamila Abdulmumini observed that Lack of Youth and women inclusion, Inferiority complex, God-fatherism among others have been among the serious impediment to political development in the country.

On his part, Daniel Zabrang urged government to in consonance with the Not too young to run Act, put in place a system that nurtures the talents of the youth and ensures their robust development as they grow into leadership roles in the society.

They both emphasized on the urgent need for government to address the issues raised by ASUU as it affects education, prioritized technology-based investments by building industrial estates for small businesses and expand skills acquisition.

Earlier, the You win Project Coordinator of the Legal Awareness for Nigerian Women Mrs. Hanatu Ahuwan said the event was organized to among other reasons mobilize young people towards translating citizens demands into policy actions in Kaduna and Kano States.

According to Hanatu Ahuwan, the event was part of activities marking the International Youth Day which is aimed at supporting youth development and recognizing the input made by young people in all spheres of life.
