Jigawa State Government has approved contracts valued at over N517.5 million for the renovation and construction of educational infrastructure at various Integrated Education Board (IEB) schools across the state.

In a statement to newsmen, the State Commissioner for Information, Alhaji Sagir Musa Ahmed, said the approved projects include the renovation of SS1 and SS2 blocks at GDASS Dabi.

Other projects include the construction of a perimeter fence and gate at GDASS Limawa, as well as the construction of administration blocks at GDASS Aujara and SAIS Fatara.

According to him, others are renovation works at GDASS Kiri, construction of perimeter wall fences and gates at GDASS Gidan Sarki Kazaure and GDASS B/Kudu; and construction of five blocks of two-classroom facilities at selected Islamiya and Tahfizul Qur’an schools across the State.

He further explained that, the five locations for the construction of the one-block-two-classroom facilities are Rauda Yanganau Islamiya, Yankwashi Local Government Area, Madarasatul Ulumul Qur’an Takur Site, Dutse Local Government Area, Darul Arqam School Tahfizul Qur’an, Malam Madori Local Government Area, Jidama Islamiya School, Dutse Local Government Area and Tahfizul Qur’an Limawa in Gumel.

He said, the projects are expected to address critical infrastructure needs in the benefiting schools, improve the physical learning environment and enhance access to quality educational facilities for students.
