Nigeria Armed Forces Is Committed To Global Peace-Faruk Yahaya

Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Faruk Yahaya has charged mid-term career officers of the Armed forces to exhibit professionalism in the discharge of their duties.

He gave the charge at the graduation ceremony of students of junior course ninety-three held at the Armed forces Command and Staff College Jaji, Kaduna State.

Lt General Faruk Yahaya explained that the graduation could not have come at a better time than now that the country was embracing a whole of society approach to defeat all threats to national security.

He maintained that as ambassadors of the armed forces, they must remain guided by the armed forces act and rules of engagement during all operations, especially as the country approaches electioneering season.

Lt General Faruk Yahaya also charged the students to effectively counter false narratives, propaganda and fake news on social media, stressing that the Armed forces of Nigeria is committed to global peace endeavours.

Earlier, Commandant of the College, AVM Olurotimi Anthony Tuwase explained that the junior course was designed to develop the command, analytical and communication skills of the officers so as to efficiently operate during single service, joint, multi-agency and combined operations towards the accomplishment of constitutional roles.

He also charged the graduands to integrate the practical experiences acquired to effectively tackle contemporary security challenges to enhance national security.

A total of two hundred and eighty officers comprising members of the armed forces, para-military organisations, ministries, departments and agencies among whom are students of eight allied countries graduated after undergoing a twenty-two week intensive training.

Highlight of the event was the presentation of awards to deserving graduands.
