The Nigerian Army has reaffirmed its commitment to the welfare of its personnel and their families, stressing the importance of family support in strengthening operational effectiveness.
National President of the Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association NAOWA, Safiya Hassan Shuaibu, stated this while declaring open a seminar aimed at enlightening families of soldiers on the operational activities of the Nigerian Army.
Represented by the President of NAOWA, 1 Division, Kaduna Chapter, Halima Tafida Wase, she said the seminar was organised in collaboration with the Department of Transformation and Innovation at the Nigerian Army Headquarters.
She explained that the initiative was part of ongoing efforts to keep military families informed, supported and connected with the Army, while promoting a better understanding of its activities and strengthening the bond between personnel and their families.
In her remarks, the Zonal Coordinator of NAOWA, Nigerian Army Depot, Zaria, Hadiza U. Ahmed, said the seminar was designed to educate families on the Army’s operations, deepen their understanding of operational demands and enhance military effectiveness through family support.
She noted that the strength of the Nigerian Army depended not only on its equipment and operational capabilities but also on the resilience, discipline and well-being of its personnel and their families.
Hadiza added that contemporary security challenges required not only a resilient military force but also strong, informed and supportive families.
