National Directorate of Employment, NDE has distributed One Hundred Thousand Naira as loan to each of the 108 unemployed youths who were trained on various Agricultural Training Schemes in Zamfara State.

Director General of NDE, Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo revealed this in Gusau, during the opening ceremony for the commencement of Agricultural Extension Training for another 50 unemployed youths drawn from the 3 senatorial districts of Zamfara State.

He explained that, the One hundred thousand Naira loan was to enable the trained youths to start Agribusiness in the various field they were trained with a view to becoming self reliant.

Nuhu Fikpo who was represented by the state Coordinator, NDE, Zamfara Office, Malam Abdullahi Yakubu charge them to use the loan judiciously, saying the loan is payable in two years.

The DG said the 50 youths to receive training on the Agricultural Extension training Scheme (AET) were part of the 1,850 Unemployed youths to be trained by the NDE Nationwide including FCT.

He noted that, after the training, the NDE would work with some financial institutions in the state to assist them in securing loans to establish businesses of their choice in Agricultural value chain.

The NDE Boss said the trainings were part of the Federal Government’s Agricultural Policy, of diversifying the economy and creating jobs for the unemployed persons.
