A Federal Government delegation led by the National Security Adviser, Major General Babagana Monguno, rtd, has paid a condolence visit to Katsina State over the murder of the State Commissioner for Science and Technology, Dr. Rabe Nasir who was killed by unknown assailants at his residence in Katsina.

While at the Government House in Katsina, General Monguno said President Muhammadu Buhari had directed the delegation to extend his deep sympathy and solemn prayers over Dr. Rabe Nasir’s death which he described as a great loss to Katsina State and the country as a whole.

He said the President was confident that the Nigeria Police Force will uncover those who perpetrated the crime and make them face the full wrath of the law.

The NSA said ongoing police sector reforms will strengthen the force to fight crime and criminality in the country to the barest minimum.

In his remarks, Governor Aminu Bello Masari described late Dr. Rabe Nasir as a hardworking public servant who had contributed diligently to the state and the country in different capacities.

He thanked the President for identifying with people of the state at a time when the state had lost one of its illustrious sons.

Other members of the delegation were the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, Director General State Services, Yusuf Bichi, the DG Nationnal Intelligence Agency, NIA, Alhaji Ahmed-Rufai Abubakar and the Chief of Defence Intelligence, Major General Samuel Adebayo.

Meanwhile, Dr. Rabe Nasir was buried at GRA graveyard in Katsina after a funeral prayer led by Sheik Aminu Yammawa after the Friday congregational prayers.
