Inspector General of Police,Usman Alkali Baba has urged officers and men of the force to shun bribery and corruption and rededicate themselves to better service delivery.

The Inspector General of Police made the call while addressing Officers and men of Kwara state Police command during his One -Day state working visit in Ilorin.

He advised the Police officers and men to use their Uniforms to make heaven through selfless service.

According to him, the force will focus on training and retraining of Police officers and men to make the job more effective.

Usman Alkali Baba said the Nigeria Police will employ 10,000 Police officers each year for six years to tackle the prevalent shortage of manpower.

He explained that a total number of 20,000 police personnel will be employed this year to take care of last year planned employment that did not take place.

In his address the Commisssioner of Police Kwara state Command,Mr Tuesday Assayomo attributed the successes recorded by the command to the inspector general of Police community policing strategy.

He also urged the Inspector General of Police to give additional manpower and logistics to the state to make them more effective and efficient.
