The Committee for the sale of fertilizer for this year’s farming season in Birnin Kebbi local government area, has warned against selling the products in the market.
The Committee Chairman and State Commissioner for Works, Abubakar Cika Ladan, who gave the warning said any one found selling government fertilizer will be prosecuted.
He equally warned members of the committee against diverting of the fertilizer to black marketers.
Speaking to newsmen in his office, Cika Ladan, said that, every ward in the local government area received five hundred bags of fertilizer to be sold to farmers at the rate of six thousand naira.
He explained that, the committee to be headed by a Commissioner or Special Adviser had local government Council Chairman, Traditional and Religious leaders as well as security agencies.
According to him, the ward Committee should also be headed by the Councilor of the ward saying, only the Councilor will make payment to the main Committee before collecting the fertilizer for his ward.
Ladan said that, each bag of the fertilizer to be sold at the rate of six thousand naira.
