Jigawa state Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources has distributed 1320 goats to 440 women under the goats rearing scheme in Kaugama local government area.

Representative of the ministry Dr. Ahmad Zubairu made this known at the end of the distribution exercise.

He explained that the women were selected from 11 wards of the local government.

Dr. Ahmad Zubairu said each beneficiary was given three goats as empowerment and expected to return three goats within one and half years.

In a speech, chairman of the local government council, Alhaji Ahmad Yahaya Marke commended the state Governor for introducing the initiative aim at making rural women self reliant.
