Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq says his administration will ensure improved welfare and good working condition for teachers in the state.

AbdulRazaq stated this at a Program to mark the 2020 World Teachers Day organized by the state Branch of the Nigeria Union of Teachers in Ilorin.

Represented by his deputy Mr Kayode Alabi , the governor urged teachers to reflect on the challenges brought to the global economy by the COVID-19 pademic and the need to key into the use of virtual teaching techniques.

AbdulRazaq said his administration will place priority on the welfare and training of teachers to push them further up the scale of national ranking.

In his address, the chairman of NUT Kwara State branch, Comrade Olu Adewara commended the state government in its contributions to educational development .

He appealed to the state government to assist the teachers in areas of minimum wage and delay in promotion implementation, financial back up, and correction of salary disparity with their teaching service Commission counterparts ,among others.

In a remake the Chairman of the Parent Teacher Association in Kwara State and the first Makama of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Oniye urged the state government to always carry along the body in decision making on issues affecting schools.
