Niger state government has said that it will continue to commit substantial amount of it’s resources to the development of education as veritable tool for socio economic development of any nation.

State Governnor Alh Abubakar Sani Bello stated this on the occasion of this year’s World Teachers Day celebration in Minna.

Represented by the state Commissioner of Education hajiya Hannatu Jibrin Salihu Governnor Sani Bello maintained that investment in education is a worth while investment which would have a multiplier effect on the economy of Niger state.

The Governnor who commended teachers in Niger state for their commitment to duties also cautioned against breaching Covid 19 protocols following the resumption of schools.

In his remarks Chairman Nigeria Union of Teachers Niger state chapter Comrade Ibrahim Umar called on state government to make adequate provision of Infrastructional materials to schools towards making teaching and learning more effective and efficient for effective service delivery.

Comrade Ibrahim Umar while appreciating Niger state government effort at addressing challenges of pension scheme also observed that refund of seven point five percent contributory pension scheme to teachers has been characterised by challenges ranges from zero account balance fund hanging and variation of payment by the Pension Fund Administrators.

The theme for this year is “Teachers leading In Crisis Reimagining The Future”.
