Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr Sunday Dare

Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr Sunday Dare has promised to revive the long abandoned Pankshin and Mambila training camps in Plateau and Taraba states respectively.

In a virtual meeting the minister held with some long distance race coaches and record holders, he discussed how to revitalize the races, develop talents and the upgrade training camps for athletes.

The minister directed coaches to audit the training camps in Mambila and Pankshin to ascertain the extent of renovation needed to bring it up to the desired standard.

He encouraged the coaches and other trainers to scout for talents and develop training programmes.

 Sunday Dare assured that long distance races would receive close attention going forward.
